Anytime that a life is lost in a car accident in Georgia is a tragedy. The grief and suffering that the family and friends of victims feel may be compounded even further if it is subsequently discovered that another’s negligence contributed to the accident. If and when such discoveries are made, it may be understandable why those most affected by such a tragedy choose to seek compensation.
A young woman described as being “beautiful both on the inside and outside” was recently killed in an accident in Atlanta. The popular college student was traveling in a vehicle with a friend when the car spun out of control and wrecked. The other woman, who was driving the vehicle, also suffered injuries according to the victim’s family. Law enforcement officials reported that alcohol did play a factor in the crash, and that the driver was indeed arrested and charged with vehicular homicide as well as driving under the influence.
The victim’s family in this case reports feeling no ill will towards the driver despite the allegations being made against her. This is often the case following many similar accidents, as victims are often acquainted with the drivers that caused their crashes. As is the case here, those drivers’ actions may also have little effect on how those affected may feel towards them personally.
Oftentimes, however, the decision to pursue compensation is necessitated by the enormity of the expenses that such an accident can generate. Whether it be to cover funeral costs or medical bills, accident victims and/or their families may need the added funds in order to endure their ordeals. Those needing to initiate such action may be wise to seek the guidance of an experienced attorney.
