Georgia man to be charged in fatal motorcycle collision

On Behalf of | Dec 29, 2014 | Car Accidents |

Pursuing a claim of wrongful death can be a very delicate matter. For one thing, the circumstances of the death are sometimes difficult to prove as being the result of negligence or recklessness on the part of the responsible party. Also, survivors of the person killed may have little stomach for taking action that is necessary. They’re more wrapped up in the grieving process — and rightly so.

But those who are suffering should know that they do have a right to seek compensation for their losses — in all the various forms they might be felt. If the victim died in a motor vehicle accident because of another driver’s carelessness, recovery may be called for.

There may be massive medical bills to cover and funeral expenses to meet. Perhaps the victim was the main breadwinner for a family and the loss of earning power stands to leave survivors in dire straits. These demands and needs should not go unmet. Speed is of the essence, though. Under Georgia law, there is only a limited amount of time in which to bring a wrongful death suit.

This may be something on the minds of the family of a 25-year-old Georgia man. Authorities say he was killed earlier this month when the motorcycle he was driving slammed into the driver’s side of a car that pulled out in front of him. Police say charges are expected to be filed against the driver of thate car, but at the time this is posted it’s not apparent that that has happened. Police may still be investigating the matter.

Such tragedies happen all too often on the streets of Marietta. Assigning a monetary value for such loss may not be preferred, but it can be beneficial to the healing process. If you have questions about an accident you have been in, the first step is to call. We are ready to help.
